FOR INDIVIDUAL AGENTS

What an individual agent keeps at Real

Short answer

You keep 85% of each commission until you've paid Real $12,000 in splits for the year, which takes $80,000 in gross commission. After that you pay $285 per sale, and there's no monthly fee. Real also pays revenue share when agents you sponsored close deals, and you can buy Real stock through your commissions.

Over a full year at $150,000 in gross commission (20 sales of $7,500), Real receives $16,465 in total, or 10.98%, and you keep $133,535 before state taxes. The fees guide shows every line.

Your cap resets on your anniversary date, the first of the month after you join. You can't bring a cap from another brokerage or prepay it.

State taxes may apply (for example, Washington's 1.75% B&O tax, which Real deducts from commission).

How revenue share works when you sponsor agents

When another agent names you as their sponsor on their Real application, Real pays you a share of that agent's gross commission until they cap each year. It comes out of Real's 15%. The agent's own split doesn't change, and they pay you nothing.

TierRateMost per $12,000 cap agent, per yearHow the tier opens

Tier 24%$3,2005 producing Tier 1 agents, or you cap
Tier 33%$2,40015 producing Tier 1 agents, a network of 750 to 999 agents, or you cap

Illustration: you sponsor 5 agents and each one caps

This is an illustration, not a promise or a typical result. It assumes 5 solo agents you sponsored each close $10,000 in gross commission a month and cap in month 8, at $80,000.

StepAmount
Tier 1 per agent (5% of $80,000)$4,000
5 agents, before fees$20,000
Revenue share fees ($175 off the first payment, 1.2% on the other 7 monthly payments)$385
Net for the year$19,615

Each of those agents still keeps 85% of every check until they cap. Having 5 producing Tier 1 agents also opens Tier 2 for you.

What changes the result: revenue share on each agent stops when that agent caps and starts again at their anniversary date. Each agent has to meet Real's producing policy ($450 in splits to Real every 6 months, with a one-time 6-month grace period). Real limits total revenue share to 60% of its monthly revenue and pro-rates payments if that limit is reached. From September 1, 2026, you need a Real Wallet Business Checking account to receive revenue share. The result depends on what those agents actually close.

Co-sponsors split revenue share 50/50. A sponsor can't be changed after the agent signs the independent contractor agreement. Revenue share can be willed after 5 consecutive producing years.

Revenue share is one of several ways Real pays agents, next to the split, the cap and stock. Figures are examples, not income promises. Under Real's Agent Attraction Code of Conduct, no one may offer anything of value in exchange for being named sponsor.

Stock and Elite

Stock purchase plan

Optional. You can put 5% of your net commission toward Real stock before you cap and 10% after. Real adds bonus shares worth 10% of what you buy before cap and 15% after. There's a $250 minimum before your first purchase. Shares you buy are always yours and can be sold after 1 year. Bonus shares vest in 1 year.

Example at a hypothetical $5 share price (not a forecast): $5,000 of net commission before cap puts in $250 for 50 shares plus 5 bonus shares, 55 in total. $7,000 after cap puts in $700 for 140 shares plus 21 bonus shares, 161 in total.

Capping and attraction awards

When you cap, Real grants a capping award in stock. When an agent you directly attracted closes their first sale with at least $2,000 in gross commission, Real grants an attraction award. Both are restricted stock units that vest over 3 years.

Elite status

You qualify in one anniversary year by capping and then paying $6,000 in post-cap fees (22 post-cap sales at $285), or with $500,000 or more in gross commission and 10 completed transactions of $1 million or more, receiving at least 50% of the commission on each. Elite brings a $12,000 production award in restricted stock units (3-year vesting), a $100 post-cap fee, revenue share up to Tier 5 until your reset, and an optional $8,000 cultural award.

Choose the sponsor who influenced you.

Your Real sponsor is named on your application and is separate from a team leader. A sponsor does not change your commission split. Review your choice before signing.
